How to request deletion

Email glaner306@gmail.com with the subject CigWarts data deletion request. State that you want information held by CigWarts about your Instagram account deleted. Include your Instagram username and, if available, an approximate relevant date or message ID. Do not include private message content, passwords, access tokens, identity documents or conversation screenshots.

What happens next

The operator monitors the contact mailbox and spam folder, records the receipt date and response deadline, and handles the request manually.

The operator checks for matching information and may request proportionate evidence that you control the account. A username alone is not proof of identity. Verification will not require your password or token.

General collection is currently disabled and enrollment is closed. Research messages are not being retained in this state. The operator will still check applicable records and correspondence rather than assume that no information exists.

Where applicable, the operator will manually delete CigWarts-held message text, notes, links and related metadata, and explain the outcome or any lawful exception. Future collection for the requesting person must be stopped before deletion to prevent immediate recollection. Deletion is not an automatic consequence of removing an Instagram authorization.

Timing and scope

Requests must be handled without undue delay and normally receive a response within one month; any lawful extension must be explained within the first month. This is a manual process, not an instant deletion promise. Minimal request-administration records and provider recovery copies are addressed in the Privacy Policy.

CigWarts handles applicable copies held in its own storage and correspondence accounts, including necessary deletion steps with providers acting on its behalf. Provider recovery copies expire under the applicable recovery rules; restoration must respect previous deletion requests. CigWarts cannot delete independently retained Instagram messages, other participants' copies or provider records outside its control. Use Instagram's own controls for those records. You may remove app authorization through Instagram's Apps and Websites settings where available and contact CigWarts separately about retained information. See the Terms of Service.
